Dr. George F. Dobo is a board-certified dermatologist with over two decades of dedicated service in the Atlanta area. After growing up in Chicago, he moved to Atlanta in 1990 to attend Emory University, where he graduated as class salutatorian. He continued his education at Emory University School of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class. Following an internal medicine internship at Emory University, Dr. Dobo completed his dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Throughout his training, Dr. Dobo earned notable distinctions, including Outstanding Teaching Resident at Emory University in 1998 and Chief Resident of Dermatology at Medical University of South Carolina (2001-2002). Since 2002, he has been an integral part of Marietta Dermatology Associates, where he will celebrate his 23rd anniversary in 2025.
Dr. Dobo maintains active memberships as a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and is a member of the Cobb County Medical Society and Medical Association of Georgia.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Dobo has been married for nearly 30 years to his college sweetheart, Michelle, a dentist. Together they have three amazing children: Ellen, a Georgia Tech graduate working as a flight attendant; Allison, an Emory graduate who begins medical school in 2025; and Scott, who is pursuing computer science at the University of Maryland and will graduate in 2025.
An avid traveler, Dr. Dobo and his wife are embracing their “empty nester” status by exploring the world again after a pandemic-related pause. He particularly enjoys exchanging travel stories with his patients and hearing about their adventures around the globe.
